YOUR KOREAN LASH LIFT GUIDE

What is a Korean lash lift?
Your questions, explained.

What is a Korean lash lift?

A Korean lash lift reshapes your own natural lashes for a lifted, more open-looking eye. Careful positioning aims to create definition from the base of the lashes. It does not add extensions or make the hairs grow longer; lifting their direction can make your existing length more noticeable.

What is the difference between a Korean and traditional lash lift?

Both treatments reshape natural lashes. Korean techniques commonly use flat shields and a thickened lifting product to help control lash placement with less reliance on conventional wrapping adhesive. Traditional methods commonly secure lashes to a rod or shield with adhesive before processing.

The label alone does not determine the result. Shield shape, placement, formulation and your natural lashes all matter. A traditional lift can also look defined; a Korean lift is not automatically better for every client.

How does a Korean lash lift work?

A professional lifting product temporarily changes disulphide bonds within the lash hair so its shape can be redirected. A setting stage helps re-form those bonds in the new position. Shield choice and careful separation influence the final shape.

At Eyelash Society, we begin with a consultation, assess your natural lashes and discuss the finish you want. Our Korean Lash Lift, Filler & Tint includes the lift, tint and a conditioning filler finish. Your technician explains the aftercare before you leave.

What is a cysteamine lash lift formula?

Cysteamine hydrochloride is a chemical reducing agent used in some professional lash-lifting formulas. It helps soften the internal bonds that hold the hair’s shape. Other systems use thioglycolate-based chemistry, and some combine reducing agents.

There is no single universal Korean lash lift formula. Ingredients, concentration, pH and manufacturer instructions vary, so cysteamine describes part of a formulation rather than a complete technique. It does not mean chemical-free, allergy-free or damage-proof. Ask your technician about the particular system and its suitability for your lashes.

Does glueless mean no chemicals are used?

No. Glueless describes how lashes are positioned rather than the absence of lifting chemicals. The term often means conventional wrapping adhesive is reduced or replaced with other compatible positioning products. The professional lifting and setting stages are still necessary.

How long does a Korean lash lift last?

At Eyelash Society, we advise that your result may last up to six weeks. Individual lash growth, condition and aftercare affect how the lift looks over time, so this is a guide rather than a guarantee. Your technician can advise when another appointment is suitable.

How long does the appointment take?

Our current Korean Lash Lift, Filler & Tint appointment is scheduled for 75 minutes. The booking calendar shows the appointment length and price before you confirm, including any selected treatment add-ons. This is the total appointment time, not a chemical processing time.

Is a Korean lash lift suitable for everyone?

Suitability depends on your lash condition, previous treatments and any sensitivities. Lifting products can cause irritation or damage if used incorrectly or overprocessed. Tell your technician about previous reactions, recent lash treatments and concerns before your appointment, and ask about patch testing.

A consultation may lead to a different approach or postponing a treatment. Cysteamine and glueless techniques still need professional assessment and correct use; the treatment name is not a safety guarantee.

How should I care for my lashes after a lift?

Follow the aftercare for the specific system used at your appointment. Ask when to use mascara, cleansers and other eye-area products rather than applying a one-size-fits-all rule. A compatible lash-safe conditioning serum can support your between-visit routine.

We can help you choose a hydration or aftercare product from our store, or discuss a suitable alternative. Ask your technician how to apply it and gently care for the lashes. Avoid rubbing or pulling them, and contact the studio if you are unsure about a product.

How do I choose the right lash lift for my eye shape?

Tell us whether you prefer a softer finish or a more noticeable lift. We look at your natural lash length, growth direction and desired effect when discussing shield choice and placement. Bring inspiration if you like, while remembering that your own lashes set the starting point.

You can explore our client gallery before booking. If you would also like brow work, the service menu includes traditional and Halal Brow packages with a Korean lash lift.
